Constellation Planning Meeting, August 2025

What was originally envisioned as a ‘Charles County Constellation’ of parishes that would support a regional priest has changed significantly since discussions began. The parishes that are currently meeting to discuss collaboration are the Christ Churches of La Plata and Wayside, St James’, Indian Head, St John’s, Broad Creek, and Old Durham. Of these parishes, only Old Durham currently has settled clergy, so the kind of collaboration that might be possible has become the main subject of discussion. The group has heard from clergy both in EDOW and in other dioceses about how collaborative ministries among small parishes are working.  The leadership of the Constellation group has passed to the Rev. Anna Olson, the new Canon for Faith, Leadership, and Collaboration.
