The parish vestry is an elected group of six lay members plus the Rector who together take responsibility for the business of the parish–seeking to discern God’s desires for the parish and how the parish can best cooperate with those desires.
The business of the vestry is thus the business of the whole parish. Notes from recent meetings can be found on this page.
At its February meeting, the Vestry discussed a passage from Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians and reviewed another episode in the EDOW series on vestry leadership. They heard a report on the progress of the organ refurbishment, and opted to purchase a high-quality used blower to replace the failed blower. They finalized and approved the annual Parochial Report; and noted plans for Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday; they discussed ways to incorporate youth into the worship service. They continued to discuss ways to prevent and/or mitigate damage to the parking lot, and whether gates are the best approach. They discussed selection and placement of a bench in front of the church. They heard the clergy and officers’ reports.
At its January meeting, the Vestry welcomed new member Pat B., discussed a passage from Exodus, started a new EDOW series on vestry leadership, and heard reports about the progress of the organ refurbishment and the regional “Constellation” priest initiative. They discussed the Parochial Report; plans for Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday; compliance with SafeChurch training for volunteers; and a number of building and grounds projects. They heard the clergy and officers’ reports, and re-appointed vestry officers and committee members for 2025.
The 2025 vestry met for the first time and elected Sue Kaspar as the new Senior Warden and Rick Viohl as continuing Junior Warden.
