Vestry Meeting July 2025

At its July meeting, the Vestry discussed Psalm 27 and reviewed another episode in the EDOW series on vestry leadership, this one focusing on recruitment of vestry members. They decided that quarterly information sessions held during Coffee Hour might help the congregation understand the work of the vestry.  They discussed the calendar of parish events for the fall. They decided to hold the Blessing of the Animals as part of the regular Sunday service, not a separate service in the afternoon. They discussed ways to support and grow Trunk or Treat. Considering the dates of Halloween and the Fall Fish Fry, they decided that adding a Hallowe’en craft/candy corner to the Fish Fry would provide the most community engagement and allow for the most parish support.

The Stewardship, Finance, Buildings, and Grounds Committee updated the Vestry on a number of unusual expenses in July, and on arrangements for getting the Rectory listed for rental.  Another repeat water test is required, after the water from sink in the men’s room failed.

Deacon Susan is dealing with a broken arm. Rev. Catharine is starting as Co-Dean for the Southern Maryland region of our diocese next month.
