Vestry Meeting October 2025
At its October 22 meeting, the Vestry discussed Luke 6:20-31 and reviewed another episode in the EDOW series on vestry leadership. They reviewed and adopted minutes from a series of meetings that had been held in September to address concerns with the new tenants in the Rectory. The tenants have confirmed that they will vacate by November 30, and mold remediation contractors will start work immediately thereafter. The Vestry also discussed plans for the Annual Meeting of the Parish on November 16, including how to present information about the proposed changes to the bylaws and the adoption of Articles of Incorporation. The ‘Constellation’ of nearby EDOW parishes considering hiring shared clergy continues to meet, now with new diocesan leadership. While recognizing that shared clergy is the future for most EDOW parishes, including Durham, the Vestry did not see a need to enter fully into this process at this time. We will instead ask for ‘observer’ status. Plans for holiday support for Mt Hope Nanjemoy families were discussed.
